View Full Version : Super Secret TCG clue!

as you may know, the set 4 TCG is upcoming, but it won't be out until after Crimsonwood. They usually come out just after a patch, however the cards that are in the set often reveal things that have barely come out. For Example, Red Slimes of Showa Town were featured in TCG set 3, which came out only 3 weeks after Showa was released. If we had seen this before, we would have known showa was coming. The same can be said of TCG set 2 and Leafre, however Leafre was already announced.

Because of this fact I tend to check the Wizards TCG site once a week or so for such hints as they occasionally surface.

Today is one of those days!

Mithril Wristband
Card Type/Class: Thief Item - Jewelry
Level: 20
Rules Text: Whenever your opponent plays a tactic, get +30hp.
Flavor Text: iHint: The magical statue of the enigmatic Ridley in Crimsonwood Keep will bring fortunes to those who fight for a just cause.
======================================== ========
30T: Stab - do 10 damage to a character or monster.

Magical Statue of Ridley, in Crimsonwood Keep... Sounds like the Antellion to me, no? Or maybe it literally means a Statue of Ridley, rather than a statue belonging to Ridley. Hopefully some more will crop up soon. I've also never heard of a Mithril Wristband before... new item perhaps? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Heh, nice find.

So next patch is almost definitely Crimsonwood Keep. They've certainly had a lot of hints leading up to it in the Chronicles.

If it is a new item, I wonder if it will be a theif only glove or claw. Odd that it says it's jewelry. We don't really have that. The closest is a pendant or face accessory, and it'd be odd to call those a wristband.

sounds somewhat like a wristguard. maybe its a new thief shield? possibly a glove. too bad the flavor text is limited to only a sentence or two.

It IS definitely Crimsonwood Keep, they already said that, and it's written on the E3 Interview anyway.

The Crimsonwood Keep patch will be in early August, so most probably next week.

The iHints usually indicate how to forge an item you would get from the TCG. Seems like Ridley may be the new John Barricade in terms of forging TCG items. It doesn't necessarily mean that this Mithril Wristband is a TCG item though; actually, it points to the contrary, because items that come from TCG cards have never appeared on those cards before. And yeah, the first time I read it, I thought it meant Wristguard, as in shield, too. It wouldn't be the first time the card had a slightly incorrect name.

Consequently, this also means that you'll need to master the Jump Quest in order to forge set 4 items. XD

To me, it sounds like the Ridley Statue is close to the treasure in the Open Sesame Ariant cave. After doing a quest, you can click on it and receive a prize. Maybe kill a couple of monsters, like the Rememberer or like an exchange quest (repeatable) and get some cool stuff or something.

Maybe the statue will have a low chance of giving away past TCG items, that would be sweet. I want a Bosshunter Gi...

The first time I saw Ridley's Book of Secrets, I thought this.

Super Metriod is the best (MP3 was good too).

Mithril Wristguard... Thief Class... sounds like a Shield, but the Jewelery throws that off.

EDIT:

I misread Wristband for Wristguard... so many a ring? For Thieves?

NEWCOMER: SIGOURNEY WEAVER.

In all seriousness, sounds like that staff member let some info out that he shouldn't have, but oh well. Maybe there are multiple antellion of various characters?

Well, Ridley was too big for Brawl, seriously. Maybe the Crimsonwood Keep is big enough to let him stay.

All I really hope for, is a chance to get an Ancient Gi or Bosshunter Gi or some other overall or top and bottom that looks cool and armor like. I refuse to wear the level 100 Thief overall, I don't want a freaking tail.

Ah... interesting find... I suppose that Ridley is a boss or a main target... O.o

Oh wait... That's for Hero's Will quest, right? I thought it sounded vaguely familiar, but after checking all the gloves out there were no matches.

Hm, that's interesting. Then maybe it's not an item, but why would this be tied to thieves?

Yeah, I've read Hero's Will quest text before, but it never occurred to me that this was it. I first thought it was an archer quest, but that was Helena (Athena Pierce)'s glove. Then i checked the gloves and none of them matched.

Eurek plays a role in the goings on of Magatia, but it's just a vague reference like "wandering alchemist". I always wondered what Eurek did to the bracelet, maybe the card artwork will shed some light on this? It'd be interesting if these two related to Crimsonwood, especially seeing as how Jack Barricade was in Aqua before he came to Crimsonwood.

The statue on the eighth floor of Orbis Tower might have something to do with it.

When I checked it before I made this thread, that hadn't been updated... It's interesting I suppose but it doesn't look like either of those cards have hints.

They typically don't do these far in advance, so the next two weeks seem possible. according to that TCGplayer site it doesn't come out until September, so who knows.

Eh, I was reading your other thread about iTCG and something came in mind.
Jack Barracade is exploring Aqua... perhaps he sent Taeng there to explore

http://sauna.gibbed.us/quest/3078/

Requires Wripped Note x1
Requires Broken Flashlight x1
Requires Broken Camera x1
I met Taeng the Explorer in between Aqua Road : The Grave of a Wrecked Ship at an empty ship that's been wrecked. He said he's been looking for the traces of his missing men. He came down here to check out the irregular activities that have been taking place here, and one day he lost contact with his men. Not only did he lose them, but he said the path to the bottom of the ocean is blocked too, so he asked me for help on looking for traces of his men. I should wander around looking for items that can be used as evidence. If the items the men have used are still here, then maybe the sharks that have been roaming around Aqua Road : The Grave of a Wrecked Ship is the one to blame... I should find a flashlight, a camera and a notebook, and give them back to Taeng the Explorer.
The first thing that came into mind is... Camera and Broken Flashlight. Could they once be the technologies from NLC?

Taeng the Explorer, whom I've met at Aqua Road : The Grave of a Wrecked Ship, asked me to find traces of his men that have disappeared. I was able to gather up the flashlight, the camera, and the notebook that his men used at the time of the attack. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any of the missing men.
Missing men. From Masteria. (Eh?) Perhaps Eurek is one of these missing men.

Eh... sorry for this having nothing to do with your thread. >.>

http://sauna.gibbed.us/quest/6130/#Black_Book

From the Bishop's Black Book quest...

Carta didn't know much about the book itself. However, she seemed to know how to read the book. She understood the language, and agreed to tell me what it means upon my return.
She knows 'how to read the book'. Perhaps the language of the new area?

Carta says I have to burn the book with cold flames in order to read it. A strange, but effective way of hiding the infromation contained within. The information has to be important if someone went through all this trouble
Someone from new area trying to hide information?

Sorry, just hypothesizing, again. D:

According to Carta, the author of this book appears to be Caron, a boatman at the River of Death who takes spirits to the underworld. He wrote stories about ferrying those who died to the underworld; but yet returned, somehow brought back to life. As I continued to read, I noticed a familar name. It was The Rememberer of Sleepywood... Carta told me I could find out about the secrets of death if I meet those who returned from the grave. There is a secret here that I must discover!
And Caron perhaps, can be a new NPC in the area.

Well you see, in one of the early quests from NLC, John said that his brother was exploring Aqua, so that's where the theory developed from. This was before he was a confirmed NPC in the forest.

yea, i dont see Aqua being majorly tied to CK or Jack, seeing as Aqua was a bit of an old release, unlike the 4th job quests that had some small edits to add to the NLC area, by mentions and such.

Um.

"Caron" is a misspelling of "Charon". Charon carried the dead across the river Styx to Hades (the Underworld). See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charon_(mythology)

Note: this also ties into Thanatos. Thanatos is the physical embodiment of Death in Greek mythology.

I'm expecting them to be low leveled thief gloves that give HP and most likely are overpowered, something like 7 slot 200HP thief only gloves. Sorta like glimmer gloves. Warriors would kill for 15atk 200mp gloves.
