I'm assuming it's from your criticals.

If you don't like it, reset your critical skill.

Archers just have unstable damage. It gets better for a little while in 3rd job but 4th job just ruins it all over again. If you don't like unstable damage you picked the wrong class.

At level 128, as a Shadower, my assaulter hits anywhere from 11k to 20k.
Nothing wrong with being unstable if you kick ass half the time.

All watk classes become unstable later on. High level heroes can hit 30k brandish and 20k brandish. Paladins can hit 60k's and 90k's on skeles.

The only class that has stable damage in the 4th job are DKs due to their 80% mastery and magicians due to them having their own magic formula.

it sucks though cause i love the bowmen and all its skills,

i just wish maybe they would up crit from 40% success to 60%, and lessan the damage multiplier

Having a higher success rate isn't gonna stabilize it that much. You sound like you would enjoy gunslingers since they don't even have critical.

Meh. It's something that bowmen have to live with

I don't mind much it on my xbow, but yeah, sometimes it gets kind of annoying.

You do realize with Bow Expert maxed, you'd be barely any less stable with a DEX build instead... and a tight damage range still doesn't help much when SE is involved.

Hurricane from a person with a 1000-1000 damage range would actually do 1000-3400... not my definition of stability.

Party pooper.

DK is the most stable job right?

That's what I always tell archers complaining about their damage ranges being unstable xD

Our ranges are unstable because of their ability to hit higher numbers with critical. The other option is to hit more stable damage and not do the high numbers. I dont know about you, but I'd take the higher damage over stability any day (especially since both have the same minimum damage)

Depends. If you're talking endgame...
AM/Bishop - varies
DK - 80% mastery
Sword Hero/Paladin/Shadower - 60% mastery
Axe Hero/BW Paladin - Equivalent of ~40% mastery
BM/MM/NL - Equivalent of ~30% mastery (except when the MM uses Pierce, which is pretty stable I think; just varies with monsters)

Mages are typically most stable though.

I think the instability is due to crits right? my damage isn't that much unstable at all, even if it fluctuates between 1xx non crits thru upper 3xxx hits =P

You notice the major instablility when you are in 3rd job and get at least level 1 SE.. The damage fluctuation is amazing... 6k 3k 1k1k with strafe =P (But i had level 9 SE at a squid party...) I think 2nd mastery covers the normal damage variance, but SE makes it back to unstable?

^^^ don't mind my opinion =)

she advanced as a hero, which is why she has so much str and 10k hp, then she job changed into bowmaster. changing jobs and testing things is nice but the process is so glitchy it makes everything not as fun as actually playing the real thing.

Nvm then... I forgot it amplifies crit and all
(But it's still more stable than Strafe, proportionally at least... right?)

Eh? I always thought that 90% Mastery would make archers the most stable class, blergh.

Anyway, until 4th job, you'd have to suck it up like everyone else did.
