View Full Version : Nexon needs to fix String.wz...
String.wz is in an awful shape. It was funny at first, but over time the typos have built up and a huge percentage of the information contained in the file is either outdated, inaccurate, or simply wrong.
Anyone who isn't aware of skill changes, through visiting forums like these or through other people who do, currently has a horrible understanding of what their skills do. Meso Guard still says something about saving up mesos, even though that was changed years ago. Mortal Blow still says 70% when maxed. Band of Thieves still says it costs 50 mp to use when maxed, while in reality it uses less than half that number.
Half of the female NPCs in the game are referred to as males. There are plenty of other confusions of grammar and pronoun usage in the scripts.
New changes are not consistently applied over existing data. New scrolls have labels like "Earring for LUK 70%," which is informative, but "Earring for INT" scrolls are still just "Earring for INT."
Someone needs to stop being lazy and fix these. Hell, I'd do it for free if they wanted me to.
I think next time Tespia comes around, people should spam Nexon with reports about how the strings are inaccurate :\ Just a thought.

It's a shame they can't let the community solve this problem, because it could be solved hastily within a day or two, I'd think. Hell, a Nexon employee should be able to fix it themselves with only a few hours of work.
They clearly don't care though.

Let's wait for a new "all your base are belong to us", then change it. :D

Speaking of typos...
Is "Gameguard is already rimmong" still there? (I know it's unrelated to string.wz but I'm curious)
Yes, I've noticed how the Beginner Skills' cooldown time was dramatically lowered.
They've gotta start correcting things more often.

Yes, unfortunately.

Let's say someone could un- and re-pack them. If they fixed those typos on their files, would they see the corrections on their game? :o

This wouldn't really fix NPCs being referred to as the wrong gender, for the most part, since that's in the Quest file.
But yeah, I agree, there's no excuse for a lot of these mistakes. I report tons and tons of typos every time I get into Tespia and only one or two of them have ever been fixed.

I agree.
I'd like to know how much Chakra has changed and it would be a lot better if they'd stop addressing female NPCs as males.

I also want to know how meso guard really works now. :<

Meso Guard wasn't modified (I think). You always take half the damage and the other half goes to your mesos (depending on the percentage of the skill). I just like ignoring the "Save up to xxx mesos" part.

Meso Guard was modified, but the change happened so early that we never even saw the original version in Global. It used to operate on a mesos saved system rather than a timer. It's pretty easy to see how that didn't work out, as most high level monsters and bosses would break your Meso Guard in a matter of seconds.

My mistake. They should also fix Quest.wz (is that the name of the file?) then. Glad to see someone is taking action already :P I've never made it into Tespia, but this and figuring out more formulas are my primary concern.
It is really funny to see that KFT lady saying "Would you like to buy my pot?".
But anyhow, they do need to fix the female/male confusion. =\
The GG "rimmommg" thing is still here, what is that supposed to mean anyway?
Gameguard is already RUNNING perhaps?

Look at your keyboard and you'll see why it's spelled rimmomg instead of running, no excuse there just pure laziness.

And how is a typo in gameguard nexon's fault? Nexon doesn't own nprotect.
