[Guide] The Evil, Broken Quests

Hello there, guys! My name is Mira and I’m an avid quester in Maplestory! I love to do quests, as do a lot of people. It’s a passion, an obsession, and a pastime. Some of you say, “Ewww, quests are such a waste of time.” Sometimes, they are, but we still do them! :) Like that 1000 drumming bunny’s drums. I think everyone remembers that one. So for old and new questers alike, I decided to put together a list of what quests are currently stuck/broke/undoable. If you have any additions or corrections, please tell me! (Providing a SS would be appreciated.)



*Important : Some Masteria/Amoria quests have been made impossible to do due to Monster Book. When MB was introduced, Nexon changed the drop tables to KMS drops. This means any quest items for Masteria quests that drop from a monster that is in KMS will NOT drop the quest item because Nexon forgot to add them to the drop tables. (This includes bosses in KMS like Papulatus and Pianus not dropping the ETCs needed to forge Bosshunter) However, monsters which are NOT in KMS will still drop Masteria drops, like Tengu will drop his nose used in Bosshunter forging. Hopefully Nexon will fix this and add the Masteria drops to the new drop tables.


Quests in “Available”

Cupid’s Courier- (Class)
Problem : Unsure about this one.
Notes : This quest keeps going into “Available” every time you finish it 24 hours after completing the quest. There are five different quests, one for each class, and every one is glitched.

Pio and the Recycling
Problem : People who have this quest available cannot return to Maple Island, so they cannot reach the NPC to start and complete this quest, making it un-doable.
Notes : People who have this problem have already left Maple Island and cannot return. It is argued that letting people come back to Maple Island would fix this glitch, but then the concept of Islanders would be ruined by such a thing.

Protect Lucas’s Farm
Problem : Again, this NPC is at Maple Island and thus inaccessible to people who have already left the island.

Roger's Apple
Problem : Rodger is in a map were you cannot return to if you leave, so make sure you complete this quest before you exit the map. People who either started this quest before the Training Camp was released (and later removed) cannot return to Rodger, along with anyone who started this quest then passes him up.

Quests in “In Progress”


Brand Materia
Status : Stuck
Notes : This quest should be in “Complete.” Please read the update below.

*Important Update :

To 'finish' the Brand Materia quest, you have to do give him a second White Versal + BCs.
I've done it twice, and mine's in the complete section.
This is confirmed true by me. ^^





Broken quests

The Missing Mechanical Parts
Status : Broken
Notes : After clicking the NPC to start the Jump Quest part of this quest, you finish the quest without a reward. But, If you cick the JQ option and not the quest option, it will work normally. (to be revised more later.)

After I clicked him once, he finished the quest and I received nothing. I did not do the JQ.



Sakura Garden 2
Problem : The presents required for this quest are supposed to drop from Pink teddies, but they do not seem to be dropping from Pink teddies.
Notes : Since the drop tables have been altered due to the monster book, I'm again unsure if these drop now or not. If you decide to hunt Pink teddies and receive a present, please post a ss here in this thread. :D

Thanks for making this, send it to Nexon or something, Cupid’s Courier drives me crazy, at least it will be gone after 4th job >_>. Assignment of a Sand Crew has also been annoying, but since it just came out I forgive them. The incompletes are less annoying than those too. Aslo you could add the 2 maple island quests that are on my available that were implemented way after I left maple island, there's a SC now so I can't get the names, but I hate them. They could at least make them beginner only to get them off most ppls lists that have no way to do them now.

While true, if you look in your "Progress" tab you'll see the Moppy segement is still there.

It is repeatable, but normal repeatable quests are supposed to go into 'finished' after you finish them once. This one return to 'available'.

If that's the case, I do believe the "999" Quests show up in my Available even after I finished them. I will have to double check on that when I log in onto Maple.

yea the cupid's courier quest has always done that, even when it was first released and broken where you didn't have to do anything besides talk to the lady to finish the quest

It is repeatable, but it's not supposed to be going to the "New" section. It's been broken since Amoria came out...

It is repeatable, but it's not supposed to be going to the "New" section. It's been broken since Amoria came out...

It's not spawing, but the NPC is there now so you can finish the quest that was released, however theres more to it that involves killing the monster I believe, but that's not out yet. Point is it's off our list and my OCD can rest well :P

It should just be that all of the Maple Island quests dissappear when you leave maple island. I have that Lucus farm one too, and it drives me crazy. I also have Mai's training or something like that in the progress section since it was hard to finish as a noob mage. Now I have to look at it every time I open my quest box. -_-

Edit: Most of the maple island problems could be fixed if we were allowed to go back to maple island once we left.

Nice thread. Althought i like doing quests i have like 10-15 still uncomplete, wich involves rare drops or hard-to-get items. I am sure i will finish all my quests in the future :)

It's kinda weird some people have the maple island quests. I don't on my WK, but I made my character WAY before they were added. I think they are on my sin (also made after they were added), though.

Any ideas what causes the strange selection?

As for the Pio and the Recycling quest, when chairs first came out you had to do a quest from Nanuke in order to get a relaxer; afterwards, they moved the quest to Maple island. Example: I, right now, have a relaxer on my Hero, who never that quest.

As for the Pio and the Recycling quest, when chairs first came out you had to do a quest from Nanuke in order to get a relaxer; afterwards, they moved the quest to Maple island. Example: I, right now, have a relaxer on my Hero, who never that quest.

It was actually possible to get 2 Relaxers if you created a character at the right time, and leveled past 30 to do Nanuke's quest.

They disabled Nanuke's quest about a month after Bellocan opened.

They move out while they're in progress, but once you complete them again they go right back to completed, which is exactly how all repeatable quests work.

A guildie of mine complained about how hard it was, and was surprised to hear some of us say that we "completed" it without moving at all.

Those are both technically completable, however Captain Latanica's map is glitched and can only be entered one time directly after a server check.

Seriously. This is so RAGE-worthy that it's not even funny. The quest is already designed really retarded. At least before this they had a way to get rid of that frickin' quest. Now they go and pull this crap.

Cupids Courier is not glitched. It's intended to reappear. Actually, not re-appearing in 4th job was the glitch.

Yes, this has been known. And it's the single worst created quest in the entire history of the game. It's not surprising at all that Nexon America was the one to make it.

Ok, so I'm doing all the new pirate quests and I completed Helping Abel find his glasses, but when I find the glasses and return them the NPC says my inv. is full and it keeps letting me do it. Sorry if this has been brought up already.

Well, Nexon did something right for quest addicts. Protect Lucas Farm is now gone completely. They removed the quest entirely, which means no more colored wgs at all on island aside from MTS and people who got them already. :X

I suppose I have a couple from a while ago that I forgot to bring up, but after looking back through all my old SSes, I remembered them.

These two only apply to a very limited group of people. Beginners who had started all the Maple Island Quests a year or so ago, but never finished them and never left the island.

The herb town pq might be glitch for people with the lvl 90 pirate hat. It doesn't seem to want to let me leave unless I drop my pirate hat (which I kind of don't want to do). And by not able to leave I mean I have to relog so I can exit via the failure map. The pq quest seems to count the leaving the victory map as a completion so ... quest or lvl 90 pirate hat.

As far as I can tell, Assignment of a Sand Crew! is fine now. Unless it moves back to In Progress after a day or something.

Alright, who's looked for silk feathers off Jr. Lioners recently? Is the drop rate really so horrendous that none drop from ~20 minutes on double drop?

I am of the opinion they no longer drop a la Masteria quest things from Ludi after the monster card drop changes.
