Marths Foward A Smash

I hate this dam move. I play in the competitive scene in smash bros melee and I always have to go against so dude that loves spamming the hell out of this move. I play falcon so he has huge advantage on me when I get to the edge. Regardless if i beat the person or not this move is still so cheap to me because of that tip of the sword crap!

Not a really big rant just something that is on my mind right now lol.

Want to know one worse? Play as luigi and when the person is holding onto a ramp, do your taunt where you kick at the ground...does a smash attack and launches them off. I've been cheap killed more times than I want to remember with this.

Or watch someone with Pit do the damn spin attack over and over and over and over and over...gah.

Actually, Snake is quite tricky to play with, Ike is easy to avoid, and Pit and MetaKnight doesn't have too many finishers. You just have to get the hang on people using them.

I use Wario, though... it's the most confusing thing ever! I LOVE IT! You can't tell what he's going to do most of the time, and it's hilarious as hell...

Try Ike and Wario on Co-op... best "couple" ever.

Lol!! The Whorenado move! Since everyone is on topic about brawl I think marth is still kind of cheap in that to. Captain falcon sucks so hard in that game, and Pit's -> B is pretty gay to.

Oh yes , please, lets all put handicaps on making it so you can pretend your as good as people who are better than you.

C-stick makes it easier to do the correct aerials without changing your direction, if you suck enough at brawl to need to go to 'johns' then thats not my problem.

Furthermore, Ike sucks ass. He is too slow, and won't get you anywhere against good players, assuming you are attempting to win.

Ike has two recovery moves. His up B is for vertical recovery, his forward B is for lateral recovery. Good use of both of them can allow for decent recovery, even if it's not as strong or versatile as other characters. Just be glad it's not as bad as Wolf's.

ps i totally forgot, but guys, C stick is a crutch. Good players don't need it. Don't look at people who use C stick and go "WAH UR CHEAP UNFAIR I HATE YOU". Look at them and go "there's a good chance this person hasn't mastered smash attacks as well as I have." Also: using C stick for RAR sucks balls-- do it like a real man. Also: B sticking is better 8)

What do you mean by mastering smash attacks then? Because using a different input method for them doesn't mean I use them any more or less effectively than you. And I have no idea what RAR means, so you'll have to tell me before I can comment on that.

Edit: ok, I don't understand how a 'real man' would differ between using the cstick for back aerials rather than analog and a button? lol

Lol a real man doesn't need the C stick. I use the C stick for Up ariel and Down ariel but I am in no way a scrub.

Personally, I prefer the air... err... B-Sticking.

I use the B-Stick set-up for characters like Lucas and Kirby, while I use regular C-Stick for Link and Wario. But I don't tend to use the C-Stick for smashes, I like smashing the joystick forward and pressing A. It feels more natural to me.

It depends, if i want slight lag before i get the smash out , i'll use the analog + button, If I want it out right away, I'll use the cstick.

Plus B-sticking didn't seem that good with toon link , so I've stuck with C= smash.

I think it depends heavily on the Char. I am using for B or C sticking.
A the controller- Some Char. I play Wii Mote Style. And thus no C-sticking.
GC controller will have me C-sticking till you are dead- or I need a better smash attack.

Only thing with Lucario's counter is that it's kinda too slow, a vet player could easily read a Lucario counter and shield it in time.

My brother is always Pit and his forward B is so annoying.
I don't play online and no one in my family uses Metaknight so I don't know how annoying his tornado is.
And Ike isn't too bad if you know how to use him.

Cause they claimed NOT to take out any main chars. from Melee only dupes.
Yet we have Lucus. Who to my knowledge has LESS differences than that of Pichu vs Pikachu.
We got some subs- which generally where pretty ok.
Except Lucario for Mewtwo--- Not making me happy.
And again with the nerfing of JigglyPuff. Dr. Mario getting taken out fine..

But I don't know how you can prove it since we don't have Wifi.:eek:

Ike can be VERY effective. Ironically, his forward smash is poor to use against people who actually know how to play well (I've personally found it to only be of any great use during free-for-alls), but I've found his forward and down aerials to be very useful (although I always screw up the timing on forward aerial). Down smash can be tough to work with, but his up smash can be GREAT if applied well, even despite it's slow speed. His tilts are better speed-wise overall, but I don't think that's really where he excels either. He's got a nice neutral ground attack and his neutral special is useful in some cases as well. But I really like his forward B. I had a lot of fun trying to nail a Samus-main friend of mine, and it feels REALLY good to hop over his shot and do a falling forward B into him and catch him off guard like that (even though each time I messed up the timing on it, I got OWNED because of it).

The only thing BAD with Ike is that RARing is a bit of a challenge for most, and that's where his best aerial approach is. Oh and his recovery has what I would call a blindspot, but a friend of mine did tell me that if I was to float toward the platform and up B (instead of trying to forward B like I normally do... a habit I've picked up from using Pikachu), I could recover, but I am still pretty sure there's a hole where if Ike gets knocked to, he won't be able to recover using his forward B or his up B (remember: his forward B makes him unable to up B and vice versa, so you only get one).

And yeah, I posted my friend code in the other thread and no one has even asked to play me. I'm a bit disappointed, because I figured there could be some fun play out of you folks.

Personally, I think Ike sucks, theres plenty of characters I feel are better than him, so in comparision he is bad.
I'm 100% sure that Snake, Metaknight, ROB, Falco , Fox, Ice Climbers ,Mr. Game & Watch, Toon Link, Wolf, Diddy Kong, Marth, Pit, Pikachu are all easily better than ike, and those are just from my personal experience, most of the other characters I've barely touched, but I'm sure quite a few of the others are better too.

Infact, the only character I'm actually sure is worse than ike is Ganondorf

Lag will often be reliant on the physical distance between players as well as connection. No matter how good your connection is, if you're on opposite ends of the country, it'll be slow.

That's amazing. Must've been ideal circumstances between you.

Data transfer can be fast, but pushing it through more and more routers, or a far away server doesn't exactly help the process.
