So i'm a lvl 83 priest (first char so don't kick me too much for it...) I only have 49% mg... with my wisdom i have 1152hp, maxed invincible and bless, just short of 5K mp....

My friend is selling me a Zhelm but i'm worried about the mg thing, by my calcs i'll have roughly 211 hp after a lightning hit so i should be fine...

my question is should i use my 3 points i got this lvl for elemental resistance to help with my lack of mg? or just 1 as the rest don't do as much and can better be used in another skill? or should I be good without it?

I think you should max magic guard. You'll have skill points leftover after maxing Holy Symbol, Dispel, Elemental Resistance, Shining Ray & Summoning Dragon. Instead of maxing doom or door with the remaining skill points, I'll have to suggest you to max magic guard. Without having maxed magic guard or even near maxed.. I don't know how you're gonna train at a higher level or even kill some bosses.

i don't think you have enough hp just yet. 1 ER will help a bit, but i recommend that you max out mg right away. holy symbol is all you really need to get to 120, so getting magic guard as soon as possible will let you get that zhelm without any problem.

with hb, you'll have 211 hp left over after a 3k hit, but the problem is actually that you'll be forced to use both heal as well as potions in order to guarantee that you'll have enough hp and mp for the next hit you take, which is risky for those who don't have any experience with zakum or are prone to lag.

you will definitely need maxed magic guard before you get to bishop. it should be easy to get because you can leave door/doom at lvl 1 and summon dragon at level 15 without any long term issues.

You're not going to get any better advice than the two first posts. You'll have plenty of points left over in 3rd job, max MG asap. You will never regret it.

As a buyer, you'll just be taking care of yourself rather than everyone else in the party. You'll also have another experienced healer in the party. So that should help you as well.

Zakum does not dispel, so spamming heal and watching your mp is fine enough at arms. During the body, it inflicts an attack that lowers your hp and mp down to 1. That attack is immediately distinguishable from other attacks, so observe the animation and use it as a forewarning for when you should spam pots so you dont remain vulnerable for too long. Generally, zakum doesn't hit you hard enough to end up dead unless YOU ran into IT (long story short, just hug the wall).

If you max everything but leave Dragon at 15 (all you need for baha) and doom at 1. Youll have 15 spare points for magic guard :]

Don't spend money resetting points just for a zrun. Just use some HP equips; a pig headband, maple wisdom staff and an emergency rescue tube will probably be enough to give you some added security.

Using NX to reset 1st job skill points when you can use your third job skill points & add it to magic guard... is not the best option in my opinion. >_>;
I would say just level up like 1-2 more times & then get your Zakum Helm. You'll get one eventually...
