View Full Version : Training spots for Berserk?

So finally I'm a Dark Knight.
And of course, you have to enjoy a Dark Knight's signature skill of Beserk.
Quite exhilerating when you begin to use it...
Having to watch your HP like a hawk...using much weaker pots...

Anyways, I was curious what kind of training spots were available to berserk users in the early stages.
I don't mean like Lvl 120 Drk with a lvl 1 Berserk.
Something around the 13x area.

I know Gobies and Bains were some options; I thought of testing Wolf Spiders since it'd be nice to 1hko them.

Lastly, a semi-off topic question,
how useful has Lvl10 Stance been for you?
I'm debating whether to get that after or before Berserk 20.

Best place for berserk soloing is Gobies, and peak of the big nest when you have enough HP. You can try out birks too - Their map layout is nice with Rush.

Which Birk map?
The one leading to the 4th job location, or the one after it?

The one next to the second set of leafre maps.

It's not really fast training or anything, more for pinaka-hunting than anything else.

Zerk-soloing at gobies is definitely aight, but himes would be faster. Or, if you have an archmage friend, you can get about 12m exp/h splitting blue wyverns with a decent-geared f/p archmage, 16m with a hs mule, at 12x.

I think some DKs stick to himes through the 12x into the 13x... then go skele/peak altogether in the late 13x. Also, some find parties with archmages/bishops at newts and skele and they'd just train/kill without berserk. Ultimate users love an hb mule.

I agree with butterfli. It'd be alot easier to train yourself just leaching off of a bishop. It'll save you both pots, and you'll lvl alot faster than you would soloing. It'll b pretty easy to make some bishop friends like that too (You can never have enough of those). Not to mention, since priests have been leaching off of dks all their lives, its time to let dks have a chance =D

Whether or not you hp washed (and how much) is kinda essential to the answer. If you haven't washed, you won't be at peak in your late 13x using berserk (though honestly, since 133, the level I was when 4th came out, peak is virtually the same exp with and without berserk). Himes and gobies are your best bets, WS for hunting. If you do newties (in berserk) you're going to be very annoyed... they only do 2k but the rate that you're getting hit at is very high (although himes isn't any better actually... early berserk is a pain). So, basically, himes and newties are the "high end" areas you'll be able to go to, with gobies being a semi-decent option. IF you've washed, you can train at peak/skeles (though skeles are basically limited to a party; if you solo, do so at peak).

For your 2nd question, lv10 stance is pretty good, though I wasn't really satisfied with it until 15+ where it becomes very reliable. It's still a great skill, even at lv10, but you'll probably find yourself wanting more points into it once you try it out.

I'm sticking at Himes with or without Berserk until 130 =P

Well, I do know for sure that I'm going to be a little reliant on my mage friends for a while, but that's alright with them.
A lot of them are going broke because of the pot costs. xD
Himes doesn't seem like an alternative anymore.
It only seems to net me 10%/hr now, compared to the 20%/hr 10 levels ago...such big changes...

I guess I'll have to work with what I have at the moment.

And as for my last question, I guess I'll be doing 2/1 split between berserk and stance if I don't have Berserk 20 by then.

Edit: And thanks everybody. ^^

hmm I would try leafre spots... at 12x I was still over at gobies but that's because the higher level maps weren't out yet.

at 15x I've been bsrking at skeles but... I'm HP washed...

and stance 10 really helps!

Just train w/o serk on skeles untill 14x i suggest you get atleast serk 20 + stance 30 and some beholder healing and beholder mastery thingie before you start trying.

stance is great, but its not absolutely necessary to max early on. i have level 3 stance and its not that bad at skele, combined with 2hko'ing skele its pretty fast still. get berserk as high as you can as early as possible, along with 10 beholder, the rest isnt mandatory but very helpful, like beholders aura, its great but you can still train without, it would just cost more.
as soon as your berserk is 20, and beholder is 10 - you can train efficiently and without risking death with every hit. you could goby and hime, and possibly newt. with time as your hp increases you could skele, which is the ultimate training spot imo (split with a bishop)

in general, as soon as you have (with berserk) around 4k hp, you can hime, around 3k for goby, around 6k for skele and a little less for newt, i dont really train there so i wouldnt know.

When u can 2/3 hit peak mosters in berserk, it'd be a good place to train. They're slow

i was stuck with gobes til 13x :f4: then himes til til 15x before leafre came out :f3:

Go gobies if you're planning 2 train with berserk. Wolf Spiders are good too.

Training without zerk at those levels is probably easier and faster than training with it. I would go himes (unless you're not hybrid, then ignore me) until mid-late 14x.

-Ignored-

From time to time, depending on where my spot is, I would use Berserk at newties.

The 3hko really helps when I'm not willing to get hit as much.
