My goodness my Jays are stinking. I'm still in shock that they managed to blow a 6-0 lead but for the Jays that just wasn't enough, they wanted to blow a 2-run lead in the bottom of the 9th... Marcum had a good start to his outing but then he decides to start being soft. About Ryan, I don't even know what to say, you're supposedly suppose to be our best relief pitcher.
In my mind, we have next to no chance of making it into the playoffs. Yeesh, what an ugly game.

Go Red Sox! (No Im not a bandwagoner, I started cheering for them the year they were up 3-1 on on the Yankees and lost cause I saw so many Yankees fans around that I decided to cheer for the "other team") Jason Bay is no ManRam but I hope he does well, being a BC boy and whatnot xD
Edit: And yeah, A's farm team sucks. Their A team is here in Vancouver and everytime I hear about them, they're getting their asses handed to them.

Gogo Yankees.
I'm so sad I missed the all star game. I read articles about it afterwards, and reading how all the hall of famers came out to stand on their old posts made me tear cause that's so aw. Also sad because it sounded like it was an awesome game, what with what, 13? innings.

It was an awesome game indeed. I watched the first 3 innings, then my Dell XPS from nexon arrived so I missed the next 5, turned on the game in the 9th to watch Rivera (the Yankees closer) finish off the 9th inning batters and the game go into extra innings and watched it to the end. It was pretty epic when Aaron Cook (Rockies pitcher) somehow got out of a bases loaded no out jam that wasnt his fault (Marlins 2nd baseman made 2 back to back errors). I thoroughly enjoyed the game though it was pretty nerve racking, cheering for the AL and watching them basically run out of pitchers.
And yes, the beginning of the game was fun to watch. I enjoyed the tribute a lot (I was afraid that the game wouldnt be on TV, being in Canada but I was immensely glad it was xD)
Edit: Yay for Bay hitting the game winning triple for the BoSox in the 12th to beat the A's!

Sorry to say but the Oakland Athletic's are on their way to nowhere this year. Have a feeling the upcoming season will be awesome though, their team is just loaded with young talent. <3

Oh man, that trade was a beauty for the Red Sox. I have this really strong feeling Bay will be spectacular for the Red Sox. And we Jays fan love the fact that we'll be seeing Bay more often. (Canadian pride anyone?) All in all it's a win win situation for everyone except Pittsburgh...but that's another post for another time. ;)

Actually, the record of the most losses in a season goes to the 1889 Cleveland Spiders with a total of 134, now that's ugly. '62 Mets have the second worst amount of losses in a season with 120. So for the Mariners to beat their record they'll have to lose all their remaining 52 games. If by some miracle they end up doing that they'll have 121 losses, exactly 1 more than the Mets. ;P
Good luck Mariners!

I pulled up the baseball archive and its actually 1899 but... man, I didnt know some team could suck THAT much! 20-134? Hell, they didnt even play 162 games. I can see why that was the team's last season, lololo. Reading the Wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Spiders) on them made me lol. Longest winning streak of 2, most road losses ever (109... that's more than total road games played these days xD), 1 win in last 41 games, 84 games away from the pennant winner, etc.
Its not fair to the Mariners. This team was robbed of all their real players cause the owner owned two teams! Annnd... after crunching some numbers, the Mariners would have to lose the rest of the games to catch the Mets >_> My dreams, dashed! Time to hope the Atlanta Falcons go 0-16 in the NFL this year (Damn the Ravens, losing to the Dolphins to make them 1-15 >_>)!

I think that Retalion was talking about 1899 Cleveland Spiders losing all their valuable players because the owner of that team had also owned the St. Louis Perfectos. The owner then decided that St. Louis would have a better fanbase than Cleveland so he traded all the stars from the Cleveland team to St. Louis in return for garbage.
I agree that the Mariners have lost a ton of good players in the past, but the past is the past right? Btw, I laughed at your Louisville slugger comment. ;)
Just in case anybody cares, the Blue Jays lost. They had a 4-0 lead at one point but we managed to lose it and the game ended 8-4. I honestly can't believe this, we have the best bullpen in the league and our starting pitchers are also suppose to be the best in the league...this just doesn't add up.

There's no need to cry, the chances of a team winning against Halladay are very slim, he's arguably the best pitcher in the league and IMO he is. ;)

Prince Fielder thing was awesome, the manager actually said that he preferred his players doing that rather than sitting on the bench and moping around. Shea Hillenbrand. "The boat is sinking" That accomplished nothing.
The Hillenbrand case and the Fielder case are completely different. Hillenbrand insulted his teammates and his team by writing "the boat is sinking" because he wanted to be traded to a team that was a contender. On the other hand Fielder shoved his teammate because he wanted to spark his team up, he wanted to show his team that he is really passionate about winning, he wanted to spread the intensity he has to his teammates, etc, etc and it's working. The Jays need someone like this on their team to give us a little boost. Right now the Jays have a bunch of players that like to sit on their bums when we're losing, someone needs to step-up.
P.S. Hillenbrand sucks.

Let's say someone on your team was pissed at you because of your lack of effort, would you not try harder next time to prove to the person that you're giving it your all? This also goes for the other teammates because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want anyone pissed at them either. Hence why he "sparked" his team, he created an effect that made his teammates try a little harder, and that extra effort goes a long way.
The Jays are starting to surprise me, our offence is doing much better than earlier this season.
Btw, is anyone excited about the Olypmics?
P.S. Hillenbrand is playing with an Independent league right now. *starts laughing*

I think you meant 3-0 Cleveland. Anyhow, Jays get swept by the Cleveland Indians. It really wasn't much of a surprise that we would lose the 3rd game, a rookie VS. a Cy Young candidate. Though it wasn't that bad of a start by Richmond, he only gave up 3 earned runs which is funny because in all his starts he has only given up 3 earned runs.

The A's now have the habit of winning the first in a series, then blowing the rest.
Rays series: Won 1st - Lost 2
White Sox series: Won 1st - Lost 2
Twins series: Won 1st - ???

Do you, by any chance, live in or around Oakland?
Jays have issues sweeping. :(

Soo...incase you guys haven't heard yet, MLB will start using instant replays for certain calls. I'm fine with this but at the same time I'm worried because this could lead to something more, like using instant replays for strikes/balls...that would suck.
Your opinions?

Anything that makes things more accurate is fine with me.

the replay is only used for homerun calls. close calls on the bases is not part of this instant replay deal.

Havent posted here in a while.
You know you're out of the playoff race when the Blue Jays pass you in the rankings lolyankees
and my sox are a half game out!

it doesnt matter if your sox are going to win the division. there is no doubt that
the rays are going to be contending for the next decade. and like you said lolyankees, when you shell out 200+ million a year and dont get any results to show for. it is time to go back to the basics big boys =D

What's with the Mets blowing late inning leads recently? I don't follow baseball that closely but the two Mets game I watched the past two days, they end up losing. I hope they don't collaspe again.

The Mets bullpen wasnt very good to begin with... Blowing saves for them is almost normal, lol.
And the Red Sox are a game back!

I hope the Rays can hold on to that AL East lead. It'd be nice to see somebody other than New York or Boston take it.
If Rays management can come up with the payroll to keep that team together; they're gonna be scary good in a few years.
