View Full Version : Homophobia

A day ago I got in an argument with a certain user. Since hte argument ended, this user is now shadowing me in threads and posts I make and "answers," which is more than likely a provocation to get into another flame war.

Just a clarification: disliking individual homosexuals =/= blanket homophobia. I've been on this forum a full year, why is it only a day ago did I become "the homophobe?"

As I said in yesterday's thread (which was since deleted) flamboyant homosexuality is annoying and disgusting for the same reason as straight manwhores and "women of dubious moral character" are disgusting. If you go around fuucking around and talking about fuucking every second sentence, that's disgusting not becuase of sexuality preference but becuase of bad moral character.

I do not hate all homosexuals, and not people that believe in equality for homosexuals. If you don't believe that, post here and I'll place you on ignore and we won't talk anymore. I've done my share of things for this forum, I don't really want to get into fistfights with "omg homophobe" every 1/2 of a day.

I've had no problem with bi or gay people, irl or online. They can do what they want, though online, as you stated, some of the users in that category can be a bit annoying at times, but who am I to judge.

To be honest, flamboyancy irks me, as well. It's people who speak as if homosexuals are a different species that feed the fire of intolerance: both homosexual and heterosexual. While I can see why people fight for the rights of marriage, equality, etc., it doesn't excuse the people who go out of their way to prove their difference. Pride parades featuring mostly-nude men in gold paint. . . e_e

In the editted words of Morgan Freeman, "I'm going to stop calling you a straight man, and I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a gay man."

I agree with you to an extent.

I think that being flamboyantly anything is dumb. If anything being flamboyantly homosexual, vegan, asexual, atheist, Christian, whatever, is just degrading both to you and the group that you belong to. I've told the two that you're talking about in this post that, and they acknowledge me, but continue to do what you say they're doing.

However, I'm on good terms with the two that you're talking about. Even though it's true that one of them has been, in a way, trolling you, it seems like you've been doing the same. In one thread, he was ranting about a subject related to but not about homosexuality, and you went off at him. You've done this on several instances. You're not exactly in the position to rant about that, though neither are they.

For you to be called a homophobe and the reasons behind that; that's just out of the question.

The problem I have relating to this is that you call them "flamboyant", but as far as I've seen they've only done that occasionally.

Sure, on those occasions they go a bit... extreme... but otherwise, I haven't really seen them throw it in people's faces.

Otherwise, I see your point... sorta.

EDIT: And what Ben said. What happened in that thread was... yeah.

Damn straight. I don't come up to people and say "Hi I am Elliot and I am straight," it would be nice if there wasn't "Hi I am Bob and I am gay." That destroys equality, it doesn't promote it.

I think I (and others) tolerated said behavior for a while before I started going off on them for it. I am not hiding that I dislike said two individuals. I am saying I do not dislike homosexuals as a whole, if you're talking about the two, yes I dislike them and I admit it.

I think the problem with your posts in that thread is that the thread had barely anything to do with homosexuality (to the point where it applied to relationships in general) and you starting posting about how you didn't want the homosexuality thrown in your face.

Of course, that was probably a result of other things, but... it's not exactly helping you.

Now that that's blown over, I'm currently neutral towards you.

Does this make you angry? (http://www.southperry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14375) I see it happen just as much as homosexual content.

Yeah, of course we have a lot of those threads. However, the straight girlie threads are made by a bunch of people, the oily gay man threads are made by like 2-3 people. If the girlie pics were thrown around in that proportion, we'd have nothing but girlie pics. That's the issue I have with the oily gay man pics.

Also, I may be wrong but I don't remember posting in either type of thread that much. I certainly don't remember browsing Google to throw swimsuit models in threads of this type.

So they're not allowed their fun because they're a minority?

So they're not allowed their fun because they're a minority?

I didn't say that. I said a minority throwing up their fun as much or more than the majority throwing up its similar brand of fun is excessive.

So just because they are the minority, they are not allowed as much fun as the majority? If they're posting just as much as the majority, then why is the majority not classed as excessive too?

You're missing the point.

Let's say you have 20 straights posting girly pics. And 3 gays posting just as many oily gay men. The straights are not being excessive per straight.

Why does there have to be a quota?

Why does there have to be a quota?

I agree, but...

I think he's saying 20 users posting 1 pic each = ok.

2 users posting 10 pics each = flamboyant.

Very well, but I don't agree with the 20 people thing. On this forum, there are three main culprits posting women, just one more than the people posting men. In my opinion it sounds like it's the content getting to Quantact.

I think what my nigga Quantact is trying to say, Rick, is that going out of your way to make yourself known as "that one gay guy" in almost every post is pretty annoying.

Because I posted after you in one thread, I'm shadowing you, trying to provoke a flame war? Seems like you're following me to see where I post. Coincidence =/= me wanted to start a flame war. I'd rather have an all-out brawl then try to make you start it.

Just a clarification: disliking individual homosexuals =/= blanket homophobia. I've been on this forum a full year, why is it only a day ago did I become "the homophobe?"

Because on that day you attacked me, and got half the forum against you.

Why don't you just add me to your ignore list instead of trying to make me attack you first? Be the bigger man and actually do something productive for once.

As is making yourself known as "that one troll". Oh and, making a thread to attack someone is against the rules, aren't I correct?

Can we all just like simmer down? :ohno:... or take it to PM?

I don't think he's a homophobe, b/c homophobes wouldn't want to be around gay men AT ALL. A lot of people don't believe in the gay marriage thing, that doesn't make them homophobic. And the flamos do get to me as well! Even my gay best guy friends can't stand them, go figure? :f6: And believe it or not there are gay guys that you wouldn't even KNOW that they were gay, unless they told you.
