Does anyone have an approximate idea on how much bandwidth Maple Story uses per hour? I'm asking for two reasons:

1. I use Rogers Internet at home and there's a 60 gig limit per month on internet usage. Any additional gigs costs $2, which I don't want to pay.

2. My University campus internet only allows a 500 MB per day. I want to know if it's possible to play MS once I move on campus.

I had a similar bandwidth limitation until I moved into my own apartment. I had to track my bandwidth usage.

Maplestory uses about 1 KB/sec download and about half that for upload while you're just standing there doing nothing. It might spike up to 2 - 3 KB/sec if you're in a heavy zakum fight or something of that nature, but really it isn't much.

So let's figure for 3 KB/sec all day. There are 3600 seconds in an hour, and 24 hours a day. That's 86,400 seconds which translates to 260MB/day. You'll be more than fine.

Phew I was worried about having to switch ISPs. Thanks a lot Fiel :f2:

60gb a month is a very big cap for most people

As long as you're not downloading HD movies or something frequently, you should be fine

Maplestory's bandwidth usage is minimal
