I dont know why. MapleStory started doing that a few months ago. I always go in and turn it to Windowed Mode. ._.

I just downloaded annother game and it does the same thing!

Have you tried pressing the auto-adjust button? It should be a button on your monitor.
...or you might have to go into the menu on your monitor and choose the auto-adjust.

Most games don't run at your native screen resolution when you first run them. You have to adjust the resolution of the game to make everything perfect. Until you do that, the game will stretch itself across your screen. When you have a game like Maplestory that doesn't have a screen resolution change, you won't be able to make everything look perfect.

However, your problem just seems to be an auto-adjust problem. Just do as Great Buy! 99¢ stated. Use the Auto-Adjust function on your monitor.
