Solo DK Census

I've seen less than five Dragon/Dark Knights soloing at Himes, Gobies, and Skeles since summer began.

...so recently I've started to wonder how many solo DKs there are.

As for me, I've partied only for PQs and leeching for people, but never for a boost in experience for myself.

Is there anybody like me, who rarely parties people out of their own free will, and chooses apples and baskets as opposed to leeching?

i have a habit of solo'ing a lot too (im a hero tho).. why? if i chat a lot i would slow down others, besides if i just logon for like an hour whats the point in looking for a party? looking for a party will take 10 mins while you could use those minutes to start solo'ing allready...

but on multiple hours training i normaly look for a party

edit: for a dk partying with a priest/bishop is rather irritating at himes i can imagine because of heal

I was exactly about to say that about himes, it's way faster (well it was at the time). If you're talking about the 120-140s and you're doing himes it's possible to solo but it's also possible to split with a priest. Skelegons I recommend doing a party and going platforms (2-man is the fastest imo), since the map is so large that trying to solo would be a pain and take way too long, not to mention it's lonely. Best exp is bishop genesis on top and drk rotating bottom with 2hko or better.

Also technically you're not leeching if you're killing in a party, it's way more expensive to rely on apples and baskets to solo rather than just 2 way splitting.

I used to solo a whole lot. But now, I recall a time a priest KSed me at himes because I solo'd.

I saw the exact same thing you did a couple months ago.
That's why I set out to create a guide entirely for solo DKs. *I have yet to move that guide over to SouthPerry. xD
It was surprising to see how soloing can be just as good or better exp wise than partying.
Personally, I didn't ask much of my priest friends to train with, until I started Himing.
By then, I still had several decent spots that I could train at.
However, during the 11x, it's just too...painful to train at 8%/hr at Gobies. x_x

I'm a Pure Spear, so Himes isn't really an option.

I told you, I'm not looking for persuasion.
I'm all finished with training, since I'm quitting soon [or taking a year-long break].

What I'm more interested in is why Dragon Knights party.

I wrote a Dragon Knight guide for Hidden-Street forums [I have yet to move this guide to SP too :P], and in the tedious process of doing so, I had to try out almost every map I put in the training section, with and without partying.
Honestly, I got equal or less experience partying at Himes and Gobies as opposed to Soloing [both with apples].
However, partying at Skeles/Newties is obviously better experience, but I don't do that either.

At XelStyle: I've used my Spear my entire Dragon Knight career, and Himes were incredible experience.
Come to think of it, every time I went looking for a Himes map at peak times, most of the DKs there used Spear as opposed to Pole Arm.

After all, I've tried that, and the pot costs were unbelievable.
Then again, I was trying the PA Fury technique, and that doesn't really work with Crusher too well..

I don't know how it is at your world, but in Khaini, the number of DKs lean toward using PAs just a little bit.

As for our guides, I guess we'll have to get off our lazy butts to move them a little quicker. =P

I don't know if that's possible for me, seeing as I just got to Dark Knight.

I guess I'm a solo DK. I've grinded since 70, Currently being level 80, Priest hardly ever go to DT. So IM planning to grind till 85-88 ish. Im a hybrid DK, went with the spear build first.

From what I know, it's 70-80 at vHoodoos, then Himes to 105.
After that, it's Newties and then Bishop. >_>

Seems so easy for those priests...

My DK mostly soloed to 92 cause I don't like looking for parties. I suspect if I'd made it to Himes (projected to start at 95 due to accuracy concerns) I would have partied more since it would be necessary (to get a map - Bera is pretty busy).

Yeah, the pot costs are tremendous.
I'm in Scania, actually. You'd expect more PA DKs here, but it was hard to find a single one training at himes during the time I trained there [before leafre, mind you].


At Februrary: I'm not so sure I can classify DKs as being 'solo' at your level, since it's really too early to be partying, from any POV. [Besides, Wolf Spiders are a lot better than MDT anyway]

i get 5m exp per hour solo at himes, close to 8m splitting with a priest.
goby is also split-able, with a priest. yet again - faster. (for a hybrid DK like, dont really know about pure spears, as i consider them obselete)

Training with a priest was so much cheaper & faster but I've always been too lazy to find them. Not that I've been training at all on my DK lately...

although i've always required to pq and leech @ lower levels..

boomers were the BEST before that lol, i stopped pqing for it and got to lv70 there, then it was fixed not long after that (yeah, im in Scania also...pretty damn crowded around boomers with mass lag and all...but i managed to solo here and there lol

i found it pretty fun once i hit lv70+ as a hp dragon knight
i started off solo-ing gryphons in NLC, which was pretty good exp for low hp and "higher" level for average monsters

i've ventured and explored many places before reaching spiders of course

then i went and tried soloing spiders...which...

OWNED LIKE CRAZY LOL

i totally fell in love with, the exp there was so f*cking awesome LOL
i solo-ed there till 106 and decided go and leech again since there were too many ks-ers and not too long after, spiders (and everywhere else) were raided with illegit hp warriors pg hackers and other jobs..which totally ruined our (legit hp warriors) reputation

oh, and @ spiders, i've partied a few times with a priest guildmate whom i'd leech, so she levels and so would i
all she does was go in snipe spot to hs + bless & heal when necessary (used used heal since im a hp warrior lol, it helps with exp)

many of my friends luckily was kindly to leech me
some who i was able to leech @ zak, or newties/skeles without paying for pots and some who didn't have enough mesos for pot which i supplied to leech level...and here i am inactive asa hp dark knight

and by the way, why tally when you can make a poll?

there are hardly maps in scania..trust me..i tried before
only a few times i got lucky and was able to share maps or leech friends there

That's not the point though.
Soloing, Peak > Himes, so solo DKs would be more likely to go to Peak.

If you're comparing Party exp and solo exp, you need to select training spots on equal ground, no?

I dont see any dks at all where i train :cool: but thats newties lol.
When I'm with my wife, i get about 20-25m per hour i think? :f6: solo i'd get around 10 :f3:

I similarly get 22-25M/h at skeles with a 2hko bishop if i don't talk.

but since i'm a chatterbox i get maybe 19-21M. Soloing which i hate doing, i get roughly 11-12M without talking, just rushing and 2hkoing shit at peak.

all with 2x of course.
