Error message while opening Maple

A member of my guild has recently run into a few problems with opening his Maple Story. When he loads up Maple and it gets through Gameguard then loads up to get to the Nexon logo then he gets this error -2005530516(Unknown Error 0x8876086C)

Any ideas? He has tried reinstalling it a few times and it did nothing. All he knows is that after he installed Diablo II on his computer again it started happening.

Well, I found this on the SW forums.


[3.1.9] Error: -2005530516 (Unknown error 0x8876086C)
This error number actually came from DirectX and applies to ATI users with an AGP video card and a Catalyst driver of v7.9 or later. Symptoms include having trouble running any of the Direct3D interface tests (as mentioned in [3.1.1.3]), having trouble getting any D3D game started (which is just about any game), or the error message above for MapleStory.

There are two ways to solve this:

* Use Catalyst v7.8
* Use Catalyst v8.1 with a hotfix.



It may possibly have to do with Diablo II as well, since he mentioned it not working after he installed it. Has he tried uninstalling Diablo to check if that's the root of the problem?
