Story
The struggle for the people of Ariant was the same as usual. Queen Areda continued to leech off the desert’s resources for her personal gain and the Sultan continued to be under an influence. In the past days however, things have been quiet in terms of demands from the queen. Perhaps the queen finally came to her senses? While all seemed calm for once, suddenly, a sandstorm spawned. No one knows what happened to the people of Ariant after that event, but what was once Ariant is now a giant fortress with Ariant Castle resting on it’s central tower. Suspicious of these events, the Cygnus are forming an expedition team to investigate this mystery.
Changes in the Game
- The Cygnus quest is available at lv100, after you accept it, the whole area of Ariant is replaced by the Stone Fortress and a new surrounding area. Remember, this will only happen after you accept the lv100 quest.
- Players with the changed Ariant can return to the original Ariant by finishing a quest which adds Ariant to the Ludi time machine.
- Magatia is left unchanged, ride from orbis now arrives here.
Area Overview
- Path of Ruins
As you leave Magatia you’ll notice the ruins have risen up from the sands, still pretty destroyed though. Cygnus outpost can be found here.
Monsters: Sand Titan, Rune Stone, Kolture, Desert Nomad
- Ariant Gate
What ever was left of Ariant is serving as the defensive wall for the stone fortress. Seems to be supported by some sort of magic barrier. Won’t be able to pass it until you get the quest “Breaking though the ghost town”.
Monsters: Stone Lion, Storm Guardian, Necro Worker
- Armes Bog
Basically what once was the Oasis around Ariant. Two Cygnus NPCs here looking for proof that there is indeed some role of the Black Magician in this.
Monsters: Dalp Digger, Poigon, Venactus
- Sand Bandit Stronghold
It seems not all was lost, the Sand Bandits took the cave from the Red Scorpions and expanded on it. There are also Ariant citizens and two Cygnus NPCs. Note you must have completed all the Sand Bandit quests and have the badge with you before you can receive quests from them which eventually leads to “Breaking through the ghost town”.
- Stone Fortress Ardena
Yes the name is eventually revealed to you…..Anyway, it serves as a PQ which you must complete to get to Ariant Castle. After finishing it once, you’ll be able to warp up to Ariant Castle anytime. You can still do Stone Fortress Ardena even if you have the warp. More on the PQ in the next section.
- Ariant Castle
Another PQ but this one requires a squad of 15 players. More on the PQ in the next section.
The Party Quests
Note: Both Party Quests are 110+, no max level like CWKPQ.
Stone Fortress Ardena
Stage 1 - Entrance Hallway
This is just like Pirate PQ except there’s no time limit. The Hallway is full of Sand Knights which you must kill to access the portal. In the next room, just beat the first boss, Sangra and you’ll clear the stage. Sangra basically swings around the room like a pendulum and shoots spikes here and then. It’s Sand Fountain attack will toss you up into the air causing damage. You can’t attack in mid air if hit by Sand Fountain.
Stage 2 - Trial of six
In this room, Areda will appear. After you Party leader speaks with her, you’ll all get teleported to separate rooms with her laughing in blue text. The party remains this way until the next stage. The rooms everyone is sent to is random.
Room A: This room is full of Storm Guardians, just kill them and move on. There is more than one wave of Storm Guardians.
Room B: The Floor’s glowing with a dark aura. jump quest to the portal without falling. The Floor sends you back to the beginning of the jump quest if you fall.
Room C: Run around the room as the orbs glow one by one. Hit them as they glow then kill the Rune Stone that spawns. After that the portal will spawn.
Room D: Walk to the other side of the room while dodging the beams. Hitting a beam sends you back to start.
Room E: Pretty messed up room we have here……You get a buff that lets you swim like in Aquaroad, avoid the black blobs on the objects.
Room F: Climb up the rope, the obstacles are there to knock you down. You can see that someone used gravity hacks and glued you to the wall.
Stage 3 - Ambush
The Stage begins once everyone makes it here. More text from Areda and monsters will spawn after everyone finished the conversation. You will fight Sand Knights, Black Geomancers and finally Pitch Stalkers. Black Geomancers will summon Rune Stones as they go along. Pitch Stalkers have the ability to teleport and unleash an attack while doing so. Pitch Stalkers are highly mobile and their attacks help with that. For example you can be attacking one from far away but a Pitch Stalker can lance itself at you. Once you fight off the waves, the portal appears.
Stage 4 - It was either this or the others
Jump quest and climb up the tower. Simple enough……except there’s a time limit before a trap begins to rise from the base. When this happens, you have to make it to the top or the trap will kill you and your party. Lucky for us, dying here does not take exp.
Final Stage - The Stone of Ardena
Here you will fight the boss of this PQ, Crogema.
Phase 1:
Crogema is protected by some magic barrier first so you can’t do much to it right now. However, notice he has four purple orbs, one on it’s forhead, one on each arm and one in the center of it’s body. Use the springs around the map to elevate yourself and hit the orbs. Sadly, it has an ability out called energy disruption which prevents AoE attacks from working during this phase. Destroy all four orbs and the barrier is finished.
Phase 2:
It still retains most of it’s attacks. It can no longer shoot beams from it’s orbs but now has two weapons to attack with. Springs are gone but now there are two hidden warps to help you get to the other side if it comes too close. Will summon two Sand Knights at certain points during the fight.
Ariant Castle
Stage 1 - The Gate
Much darker than it was before but anyway, kill the Pitch Stalkers in this room. Afterwards, you’ll fight Tigun, yes Tigun. Apparently he was necromanced and pumped up by magic. Has a Dragon Crusher type attack avoidable by ducking and an unavoidable Dragon Fury like attack. Kill him and move on to the next room
Stage 2 - The Twisted Room
This room is messed up in the same way as Room E from Ardena except no Aquaroad buff this time. This stage is composed of four maps. First two maps involve a jump quest and Dark Misslelists which must be killed to free platforms.
The third map involves moving blocks to their correct slot. They can be moved by simple normal attacking them. However, this room has Alpha Stone Lions spawning from time to time which can push your blocks away. Get rid of them quickly before they become annoying.
The Fourth room is a boss fight against Boculus. Boculus works like wack a mole, the room is full of small pillars and Boculus will randomly pop up in one of the pillars. He only appears for 5 seconds before moving to another pillar. He only has one attack which he preforms immediately after popping up.
The Battle for Ariant < Last Stage >
Enter the room and get some text, prepare to fight.
Fight 1: The Black Magician?
The Room goes dark and the Black Magician’s head appears. His head is considered a flying monster and will swoop around the room firing lightning bolts, energy orbs and lithium pillars. Do note, if he has two lidium pillars out, get out of the space between them as they unleash a nasty magic attack. He will also taunt you in between.
Fight 2: “Queen Areda”
After “beating” the Black Magician, the Cygnus commander will ask himself “Did we really just kill the Black Magician?.” Then Queen Areda will appear laughing at you. The “Black Magician” was just an illusion set up by Queen Areda to observe you. Suddenly, Ardin, Eleska and Sejan will come in and join the fight. Queen Areda will show her true form and the fight will begin.
Queen Areda knows the super defenses. In addition to that, she will cast and Anti projectile barrier which can be taken down by the melee classes but takes about 10 hits, 5 if you’re using a two handed weapon. Her attacks include:
-Sand twister which works like Shadow Web for those in it’s range.
- Lidium Storm which shoots lidium crystals in random directions (avoidable if you don’t make contact with them)
- Sand Glaive which works like a pillar but then chains off other pillars until it reaches the wall.
- Energy charge. When text appears, run to the edge of the map. This attack will take 90% of your HP. She won’t attack for 5 secs after that though.
- Black Guardians will spawn randomly.
After she's down, she will say "Fools, this......was.....mearly.....a distraction!"
