View Full Version : Finally Haruhi Season Two?

Against all reason Haruhi fans are still hoping for clarification on the matter of whether the rerun currently airing will actually contain new episodes, and with Kadokawa merrily stringing them along, they are left to glean what they can from third party reports.

The latest such report comes from the recent Wakayama TV listings, and seems quite credible as such.

If their schedule is to be believed, the 8th episode of the rerun will be titled “Sasanoha’s Rhapsody”, which does not correspond to any of the episodes in the first series, and so is thought to be a new episode. What it turns out to be will be known when it airs, at 1AM on the 25th.

Astonishingly, stations have apparently been told not to reveal any details of what they are actually broadcasting where Haruhi is concerned, so the listing may be in danger of disappearing thanks to the surreal nature of the Haruhi PR machine, which has been trying to kill any confirmation of a new season since its initial ambiguous announcements of one.

Lingering fans who have not converted to Mio-ism will doubtless be pleased if this turns out to be the new episodes (not) promised.

Others will doubtless be perplexed at just what Kadokawa is trying to achieve with its bizarre burial of an unconfirmed new season in the middle of a rerun…

I'm smelling more trollan by Kadokawa at this point.

Seems to be real? I don't know, trusting info from /a/ would be foolish.

Too bad I don't care either way since I've never watched it before.

LOL'd most thoroughly. Haha, oh wow.

And this is like the 34958th article about HARUHI SEASON 2 on Sankaku. PATHETIC FANS JUMPING AT ANY HOPE OF MOAR HARUHI. I think it's the most overrated anime in existence. Personally, I didn't enjoy it at all.

But I will wish the best for you guys. Hopefully the eternal trolling will end some day.

I would like a 2nd season, while at the same time I wouldn't mind if we didn't. I mean, it ended pretty openly, so they could finish it, or they could just leave it to our imagination.

Personally I already have tons of anime piling up that I need to watch.

If it does turn out to be true, yes I know, hahaohwow.jpg at that. But if it does turn out to be true I just want to laugh at how they're taking it.

I mean, if another season of a show I liked came out I would be like, oh cool. Not, OMG I JIZZED IN MY PANTS!

Eh, Haruhi 2 isn't really all that big of a deal for me. It'd be nice to see, but I don't go crazy over all the pomegranate Kadokawa pulls.

Only seemed legitimate since it had to do with the broadcasting company who apparently fu'cked up and didn't pay attention to the gag order.

Well, more like it is legitimate now.

No I found it funny how you said this was from /a/, when it's from Sankaku. It's ironic because while /a/ is definitely tsundere for Sankaku, everything posted from Sankaku on /a/ typically gets saged because we do not care or have already read it. Basically newf'ags thinking they've found an EXCITING NEW ARTICLE. lol

You misunderstood my post. Nowhere in there did I say the info came from /a/ first.

k then yeah, I absolutely do not understand your original post.

Yep, /a/ is officially unbrowsable now. I wonder how long this will last. Haruhif'ags overload. Awesome. And then that will be followed by the trolls. And then people spamming. And then people wanting it all to stop (thus adding to the spam).

YAY. I AM SO HAPPY ETERNAL NEWF'AG SUMMER 2009 HAS BEGUN.

I agree that it's the most overrated anime in the world, but I didn't hate it. It wasn't TEH BEST THING EVAR though. It was so-so. Same with the light novels. Don't see why everyone thinks its so revolutionary or genius.

The next six episodes will be from season one, and the season three airing in 2020 will have sixteen episodes.

Everyone's favorite anime is revolutionary or genius.

This.
I haven't heard anyone praise it as it was genius or anything, but I have seen overreactions towards it. It was fairly good though.

I, for one, think that Haruhi S1 was a masterpiece. It set the bar for school life comedies at a level that has never been reached since.

Now, I haven't watched it yet.

But I heard that today's episode has not ended Endless Eight.

I think I'm going to go download it, and then cry. :f4:

I wonder if there will be 8 endless 8 episodes. how many has it been so far? I watched them but didnt count.

Poor nagato, I'd too be bored after 59x years doing the same thing over and over.

So far, 6 episodes. 594 years, actually- as said in Episode 2 of the arc in which it's stated to have had 15,498 recursions of time; and Episode 6, 15,524; still 594 years.

Honestly, I've gotten so frustrated I looked up the light novel version of this story. In the light novel, the whole storyline was a SINGLE short chapter. Within this spoiler I've provided, it contains the basic plot events WITHOUT telling the solution, not to ruin it for anyone; but I still hid it just in case you didn't wanna see it.

This chapter began at 15,498 recursions and ended with that; never pulling any sort of recursion-of-the-chapter pumpernickel, the story just said mentions the first events and Kyon's nostalgia sensation, the meeting at the park, then leads to the final day- Kyon knows all of a sudden what to say to solve the story, the story is solved by what happens on the last day, then it ends with them being glad its over in school.

But the general gist remains: seriously now? One friggin' chapter got translated into what seems to be a possible arc of EIGHT episodes; out of 14 supposedly brand-new episiodes. The main event of Season 2, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, should have gotten WAAAAAAY more spotlight than this random short story. In my opinion, it should have been done like this: 2 or 3 on The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya plotline (the filming of The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina), 1 on Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, about 3 or 4 of Endless Eight, and the rest on the The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

I REALLY don't get what they're trying to pull by dragging it. If they're thinking it's a good idea to pull make an art out of us trying to make us this bored, frustrated, and pissed; similarly to Nagato- they've totally killed the fun and entertainment factor that made the original series great.

A few possibilities for why:
- They could try to drag it until the school year begins, to be fitting with the end; and also teaching us that apparently, "summer should not be spent for watching anime" and doing some productive stuff with your time. If that happened, I can't wait to see the death threats that'll be shooting up; similar to the ones the Hideaki Anno got for how he ended Neon Genesis Evangelion.
- They think that the solution is really "all that", and they're trying to make us think about what the solution is; and gradually drop light hints as well as have you solve it with the characters. Pretty cool idea; but surely a majority of them already know the ending in the light novel- shouldn't they be equally pissed with having most of the anime's time wasted on this thing? Possibly a new ending that the light novel didn't use possibly could be it; but the light novel's made a lot of sense if you try to think about it, and it's pretty clever. I think the solution (if it's the one in the original light novel.) is DEFINITELY guess-able though; and among the possibilities I was thinking, I got it! (If you'd like for me to link you to the chapter containing Endless Eight, PM me)

Anyone else got thoughts on why so many?

I actually did the same thing- read the light novels to find the ending to E8 (only I did it a few weeks back).

I had the same rage...

I don't know if you noticed it... But they did change Lone Island Syndrome somewhat, so it's possible E8 might be slightly different.

EDIT: Wait, how did the LN ending make sense to you? PM me. D:

The only reason I can think of is that they watched one of "no naku koro ni" visual novels [or read the manga or watched the anime] and thought trying to rip off the repeating similar storyline with some 'changes' was a good idea. Thats the best I've got.:f7:
