while training with a fellow archer, he offerd me some diamond arrows.
i simply said, i use soul arrow, so those arrows woudnt help me.
This made me think. If soul arrow would take up the effects of those type of arrows, maybe the stars with sins deal would be a comparison
Theifs can recharge their stars, so why do bowmen have to buy more?
maybe we can retrive arrows that havent been "broken" with a new skill?
idk just a simple topic optimal for discussion
Maybe beacuse starts are made of metal, thus 'easily' made? O.o; And maybe arrows just break, so you need to get new ones. I don't think stars break as often as arrows do. I break arrows alot irl when I shoot outside. ^^

At least you can buy your 'good' arrows from an NPC, crystal ilbi's from NPC anyone?

we cant buy 4 attack arrows outside of Showa, and the only other 4 attack arrow is diamond arrows, which only drops in NLC. Frankly I think it would be fair if ours arrows stacked with SA, it would allow us to deal comparable damage with hermits. Without the use of SE.

I don't think archers and hermits should try to compare to each other, they're both entirely different classes. Archers completely OWN hermits when it comes to mobbing etc.

when we compare classes, the only thing we are comparing are their "ammo"
if you stripe a hermit to subis, and have an archer use soul arrow, i see a mighty difference'
the said thing is bowmen cant use illibis at lvl 10 and hit like 1k ><

A few things to consider:
1. While sins absolutely have to use stars, bowmen dont absolutely have to use arrows. Soul star "consumes" stars in the process while soul arrow doesnt, meaning that archers dont have to carry arrows if they dont want to while sins HAVE to carry stars. There's a best of both worlds. Would you really want 20 sets of arrows that can be recharged clogging up your use inventory, meaning you cant hold useful stuff like more pots, ciders, etc? You tell me.
2. Claws add significantly less attack than bows do. Garniers have 10 attacks while war bows have 25 (Incidently, Garnier + Subis = 25 attack as well ;O). The purpose of stars is to "make up" the attack difference between normal weapons and claws whereas the purpose of arrows is merely to act as a projectile. At the same time, because sins have less attack, leading to a more AP based formula, they do A LOT more damage with an apple than archers would but that's a totally different issue.
3. It doesnt matter anyways as soul arrow DOES NOT stack with attack arrows. Beyond getting dispeled and having Soul Arrow run out for whatever reason, there is absolutely no reason why an archer who has soul arrow wouldnt be using it. I remember having too many steel plates 2 years ago and making 12000 steel arrows. Half a year later, I still had 5k left and that's after giving away a good 3-4k to friends (Where did I use them? Dispel at sharks/pap, pressing the wrong button in fm, etc.). You dont use enough arrows to have a need to recharge them anyways.

They can however use diamond arrows :p Unlike gunslingers, they have level requirements for their bullets.
Oh this was aimed at 2 posts above this one.

The only class that can't out-mob Hermits are beginners.
Archers don't recharge their arrows because arrows are worth less. Stars are a major portion of a Hermit's total weapon attack, while Archers don't get more than 4 Attack from arrows. Almost all of our attack comes from the (x)Bow we wear.
Ooo, I like this guy (http://www.southperry.net/forums/showpost.php?p=1541&postcount=7).

Arrows suck (Well not really but the fact that you run out quickly and you can't recharge sucks)
Also arrow bonus damage doesn't apply with soul arrow

lol, im not entirely sure if you actually read the topic...
ANYWHO, it would be nice and it would have to work like soul javelin, in the sense that it takes a number of arrows, perhaps a full plume, in order to give unlimited for the said 10 minutes of the skill. it would be insanely unfair to simply allow 1 arrow to be stacked forever with an unlimited skill like soul arrow.
id say, 1 plume per 10 minutes would actually be a very fair number.
consider max Soul Javelin. 200 stars for 120 seconds. in theory, a full set of ilbis or C. ilbis (1000 stars) will last 10 minutes. That would equate perfectly with Soul Arrow. A 10 minute buffer, that consumes a full plume (1000 arrows)
discuss.

Definitely feasible but I like the idea of separating the two classes apart. If we're going to make adjustments where sins act more like bowmen and bowmen act more like sins what's the point in separating the two classes? We need distinction and each class should continue to carry their own weaknesses and strengths.

thats the problem though...archers have no strengths when it comes to the Night lord >_>;; basically he who has sharp eyes wins.
Luckily an archer naturally has SE, so an archer on it's own is going to be stronger than a NL on it's own...however since we party nightlords to train with...boss with...when they recieve SE, they once again leave the archer in the dust. it's kind of annoying.
lol, i do get what you were saying though, however giving archers the ability to use attack arrows in conjunction with SA wouldn't make us like NL's. It's the Skill Soul Javelin itself that makes the NL like an archer. The gap has already been "bridged". why not finish it by giving archers a chance to match a NL's raw power a bit more.

Bowmasters > NLs as far as Damage Over Time. Even with perfect equips for both (The gap widens the weaker the equips)
Bowmasters have Damage over NLs, NLs have speed. If anyone has the raw power, It's Bowmasters.
If you're comparing the 2 in a party, then who cares which one is stronger? They're both dealing massive damage, and they're partied, so there's no reason to compete.

have you ever gone to a boss run where final kill matters due to the use of double drop cards O_O the NL always gets the card (unless the BM is far higher leveled)
I have both a Night Lord and a Bow Master. I've personally seen the difference in power. however this topic has strayed lol.
back to the original point: a conceptual idea of attack arrows stacking with SA
