Some really cool stuff here.

New class of weapon, "Epic Item". Not sure exactly what this variable means yet, but these weapons have skills associated with them.

That sword's attack power is really low for it's level, especially since the claw and staff weapons have ridiculous stats for their level. O_o

I don't really like the look of those new weapons but then again I didn't like the look of most of the timeless ones either. Too bad they couldn't have been level 130 weapons, I wish they would start making higher level equips. I can't wait to see what this whole epic item thing is about though.

These weapons don't have anything to do with the classes. Judging by the current levels, it seems like they're more like Custom Balrog drops. No way to tell though, they're pretty damn overpowered at the moment and there's only 3.

Let me emphasize that's my speculation. In 1.2.219 they could completely redo the stats and turn them into level 130 items. There's just no way to know right now.


"EpicItem" is a new variable in the data, in the same vein as "Untradeable" or "One of a Kind". Can't be sure what this means yet since these weapons aren't available in game yet.

The name is Bane, Bain, Bein, Vein, Vain, or Vane. (OMG...)

Bane=Bain=Vane=Vain= 배인
Vein=Bein=베인

배인 & 베인 look simillar, the two words are sounded same.
(They are *supposed to be* sounded differently, but nobody cares.)
Because the people at nexon can't even spell in Korean properly, I cant tell...

Personally, I think it's Bane.

Well there's usually two types of "Soulbound": Bind on Equip (BoE) and Bind on Pickup (BoP). In maple, BoP would be just regular untradeable items, whereas things like Timeless equips and these new weapons are BoE.

Y'mean like the Striker?

If the possible speculation about a Cygnus opposite are true, then consider that ice is one of the few elements that hasn't been used by the Cygnus classes.

As well, this is only the warrior sub-job - if, again, it follows speculation as a Cygnus opposite, then we have four others which can use other elements. (or possibly just made-up ones without a monster property, like 'wind' and 'dark', but we'll see when they get released)

What's opposing of Fire? Ice. What's opposing of Wind? Earth. What's opposing of Lightning? Wood (maybe?). Opposing of Holy is Darkness, but they have that with Cygnus.

I wonder how they're going to do the rest. Interesting if they added 'Time' as an element, I've known RPGs that considered 'Time' itself as a element -cough cough- Tales of Eternia! <3

I like the time mage idea. o_o I always wondered why they didn't expand on the slow skill. Interesting stuff can be made out of something like that.

Fire ~ Ice
Wind ~ Earth
Light ~ Darkness
I believe.
Time doesn't have advantage or disadvantage to anything, I believe. Unless it was
Nothing ~ Time

Pokemon didn't have opposites. They had a huge table.

It's summon has a holy element. Ice is my favourite maple element so I am glad this first class uses it, since it was missing from Cygnus.

The only thing 'Time' itself had a rival to was maybe 'Elemental'? In which, in Eternia, 'Elemental' was considered as a ... King of Elements, strong to all other elements. Time was also strong to all elements, but has a 1% weakness to Lightning. lol.

Juggler only gave Quicken with no MP cost, i.e. Take your turn immediately. This only changes your turn order once, and it resets back to normal after your turn finishes, unlike Hasting or Slowing. Time Mage Stat gains sucked ass, though there really were only one or two jobs per race that had good stat gains.

Time Magic is for magicians too weak to do real damage with Black Magic.

tl;dr time magic blows.

well, going off of what JoeTang said earlier about Pokemon, the 2 Pokemon Dialgia & Palkia, control Time and Space, respectively. so maybe Time and Space could go against or with each other.

either way, i love the Ice element. i just wish it was on another type of job, but w/e.

If Grandpa Rog is dropping low-base/upgradeable (what I am speculating) weapons and some boss upgradable shoes- he may be well worth hunting.
But with no req on secondary stats and the new MoNs we are heading back again to an all class LESS system as opposed to a LOW system which was stronger per-MoN IMO.

It'd be appropriate if there are upgradeable versions of those epic weapons, and for all classes too by fighting a higher level version of Grand Balrog, since level 5x epic weapons don't feel epic at all. Level 130+ weapons pl0x.

not too many considering how many other monsters there are in the game. nexon america does sloppy work :/

However Also alot of showa mobs have missing hit boxes. But thats how they should be also.

Bodyguard B is WORSE than Bigfoot. Take BF's number of hitboxes, and cut it in half. That's what bgb's is. You can essentially only hit him when he is attacking.

of course, you must be one of the people who thinks that if nexon doesn't acknowledge a problem then there is no problem. =/
they fixed extra d because they received many complaints about it. its only lvl 7x and has a drop needed for a quest, so it got attention from players. no one cares about pap because it's missing only like 10 frames of 1 animation it uses rarely enough that people hardly notice.

not enough people whine about bgb because hes a ranged only boss and very high level. i forgot about bgb cuz im not ranged or lvl 17x...

if it's important enough to the players nexon will do something. but its not the way it should be.

i can for sure tell you thats only because his hitbox changes size for each animation. savage blow has a very small range. brandish, however, hits every time except for the space where i can get in 2 wasted attacks with a fast4 weapon on the heal animation. rush doesnt work when hes in his... hmmm... i think its the slow animation, because of the higher hitbox.

On topic, I hope that they release more of these epic items of all levels for all classes, and that they don't end up just taking up room because they suck or there's better weapons out there. And I hope they don't continue to overpower what they've already overpowered, I.E. claws. And hope they release things that are stronger than the lunchbox and other weapons that are no longer obtainable, as anyone with those weapons possesses an advantage.

Why would they do that? They didn't make mobber-friendly versions of newts (peak hardly counts here) or skelz, or even really wyverns. I wouldn't expect them to add an alternate to give other classes a chance when they don't do it already.

Masteria is pretty mobby friendly in the first place anyway. Wrath of night, typhons, WS, evil dead, lower ascent, etc are all geared towards mobbing classes. Even krakia is speculated to be really really mobby. If you can't handle the map (typhons, evil dead), just don't train there. Easy.

Just coming up with ideas in general. I mean, it'd be better than those pirates in my opinion. By the time you can kill those fast enough, there's better things to train on, like squids or gobies.

And they're adding more to try new things out, so I was just thinking what they could do for masteria mini-dungeons. As Takebacker said, it is pretty good to mob, but there's always different maps we could see. I saw I.AM.ROBOTS as a pretty good spot to train on for late 5x to 6x, and if there was improvements to be made, it would be a smaller size map with less extra enemies. Same with gryphons. We all know how popular Wolf Spiders are to hackers. Adding a mini-dungeon for wolf spiders is just asking for the trouble. The hacker can go in, bot for two hours, come out, reset, and possibly avoid detection forever. I highly doubt a GM would be checking ALL 50 channels x 19 channels in wolf spiders.

they fixed extra d because they received many complaints about it. its only lvl 7x and has a drop needed for a quest, so it got attention from players. no one cares about pap because it's missing only like 10 frames of 1 animation it uses rarely enough that people hardly notice.

not enough people whine about bgb because hes a ranged only boss and very high level. i forgot about bgb cuz im not ranged or lvl 17x...

if it's important enough to the players nexon will do something. but its not the way it should be.

Sorry I must have misunderstood you. Only Hitbox I've noticed missing is pap's Heal hitbox. Which is how it should be. But as you said. Brandish has large range and I would not know of smaller attacks.

I was not talking about paps hitbox getting big/smaller during attacks. However not being able to hit it when it is healing. Is how it should be.

If anything it does not make pap broken just because there is a 1/2 a second you can't attack it? I agree. BF, most of NLC things there hitboxes are broken and should be normal. But pap's pap. I think Paps hitboxes should be resized but thats it.

Pap is never complained about because people can still kill him. However, hitboxes are missing. I tried soloing on my chief bandit once, but it was taking way too long because only 1/2 or even 1/3 of my attacks would hit. I don't think hermits, nl's, or bowman have this problem, as it sort of aims up at the new hitbox and hits it anyways. And warriors and mages? They just have large range. Though buccaneer's might have a problem with some skill like flash punch, which is like rush, except a bit lower to the ground.

Nah, my arrows still go through Pap when he uses his heal skill. He always manages to gain a little ground during it, but it doesn't last long enough to matter. He gets pushed back before he comes within dangerous range.

And the newest stuff for the epic items looks nice. I like the idea that weapons will have animation effects to them.

Well at least we still don't have custom maple profiles like other versions. From what I've seen it's basically a combination of myspace and maplestory. Except unlike myspace, you're more likely to only younger people with their profiles up. :f7:

alright, the 222 patch was uploaded and this one contains skill strings.

It seems that this new class uses a sort of combo system to boost attack. This isn't combo like crusaders; it's something different entirely. This is like Street Fighter combos where certain keypresses cause you to do different moves, and different keypresses at certain times during a move causes different actions. Furthermore, the class gets boosts by chaining different skills together - so you get a WDEF and MDEF boost for chaining 10 attacks together within a specified time and such. Also, in order to perform certain attacks your combo counter (think Energy Charge for infighters) must be at a certain level.

So, as can be easily seen, the +3 booster is necessary in order to perform the best combo attacks.
