Very... VERY first when I was a kid... I think DBZ or Pokemon - whatever was playing on Toonami on Cartoon Network at the time. I was around... 10?

One Piece got me officially into Anime about... 2 years ago? I remember watching all 3xx episodes in the span of a week.

Very first for me was either Dragon Ball or Samurai Pizza Cats. I remember being around five and waking up at the ungodly hours of the morning to watch them with my brother.

Mai-Hime is what sucked me back into the anime world. I watched some fairly mediocre stuff before that, like DNAngel and Elfen Lied.

Very first? Pokemon was my first and only cartoon (I had no idea what anime was) up until I was about ten.

The first anime that I watched as anime, though, was Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Anime is merely short for Japanese Animation. AKA, any shows produced / shown / aired in Japan.

It is a cartoon in the sense that it's marketed at younger kids and is animated, but that doesn't mean it's not anime.

I'm not totally sure if Thunder Cats would be considered anime... It was animated by a Japanese company, but its country of origin is here in America. I'd say it isn't though.

Sailor Moon (The animated series, not the dis-functional, let's put a bunch of ugly random girls in costumes and kick stuffed animals around "real" version.)

I thought that show was kick ass. I still have all the movies around... somewhere... :heart:

My first anime I've watched is probably Pokemon, yes the very old version.
Liked it when I was a kid but now I look down on it from the Naruto anime I've been watching.

Pokemon but that seems to be every bodies first anime. Followed closely by Dragonball Z and Rounin Warriors. I loved watching those shows after getting home from school on Toonami.

Damn, that show was awesome. I think the narrator made it so awesome, but I don't really remember. xD

I just checked if there was any on Youtube, and this episode title caught my eye.

I never watched pokemon. My parents wouldnt let me because they felt it went against their Christian beliefs (LOL) and me being the obedient young boy I was, I never watched it xD

First anime was probably Gundam Seed in dub. It was on a kids channel so I figured why not

Pokemon. And then immediatly afterwards Ranma 1/2, though at age 11 I think I was really too young for it. x3

EDIT: And who says pokemon, sailor moon, and DBZ arent -real- animes. They cartoons made in Japan are they not?

What I meant by that was the first anime I seriously watched, rather than just coming across it while flipping channels and stopping there. But also see the "anime you hate" thread for my opinion on those.

Gegege no Kitaro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeGeGe_no_Kitaro), the 1985-1988 one. It was on the Japanese network every week...eventually I started watching Dragon Ball, too.

Most definitely Rouin Warriors, I remember watching that when I was sooooo young. Then it was Pokemon, then probably Digmon, DBZ, FMA, Naruto then Bleach? I'm not sure, I probably skipped a few, but I remember those as the most completly watched. I'm actually downloading Soul Eater right now to try. ^^

It was either Dragonball Z or Ronin Warriors. They are both burned into my mind like Vegeta's over 9000 thing. >_>
