The Monks

These people dwell deep in the thick and dense forest between Sleepywood and Ellina. They are friendly to strangers but cautious at the same time. Monks are skilled in martial arts as well as magic. They follow the teachings of the Awakened One, however, there are some who follow a different, darker path.

Monks fight with their fist as well as adorn beads and cloth gloves. Their armor consist of a light material drape that covers their entire body and a pair of sandals. Monks do not wield shields nor wear headgear of any kind, doing so would impede their movement.

To become a Monk, you must be at least Level 10.
Head to the monk village known as Waken Village and speak with the Awakened One. He will explain their beliefs and so forth. Upon agreeing to follow the rules, he will request for you to deliver food to the Tainted Monk that is chained downstairs. You will be told that Monks who practice dark magic are shunned upon in Waken Village. When delivering the food, the Tainted Monk will be hinting to you to join them. Speak to the Awakened One again and you will be taught the basic skills of a monk and gain a boost in HP/MP. Your stats will be changed to 20STR, 20DEX, 4INT and 4LUK with the rest as leftovers.


To become a Guru, you must be at least Level 30.
Head back to Waken Village and speak with the Awakened One. By now, it will be clear that there are some monks who follow a different belief. The Awakened One will still speak to you about these other monks. He will then request that you go train with another monk in the open fields.

Speak to this other monk and agree for training. You will be sent to a hidden map with a time limit. This map will be like a Jumping Quest map, plus Speed/Jump related things will not work. You need to make your way right along the logs without touching the ground. Falling off the logs will teleport you back to the beginning of the map. There will be immobile Wooden Target Dummies. These WTD will KB you to the left and have a touch damage of 50 as well as stunning you for 3 seconds. If the timer counts down to zero, you will be sent out of the map. If you manage to pass through this, speak to the monk at the end and he will give you a Recommendation Letter. Give this to the Awakened One and he will teach you the way of a Guru.

To become a Druid, you must be at least Level 70.
Head back to Waken Village and speak with the Awakened One. Agree to wanting to be a Druid and he will tell you to speak with another monk in the backyard.

Speak to this monk and agree to train. He will send you to a small hidden map with 3 logs. The middle log is empty and clickable. The two end logs are not clickable and a Lupin is occupying each. There will be a timer and if it reaches zero, you will be kicked from the map and lose all of your Endurance Points. You must collect 200EP and speak with the monk in the hidden map in order to receive a Necklace of Endurance. You can collect 1EP every second by double-clicking the log as long as you are on it. The Lupin throws bananas at you attempting to knock you off. You must move into the direction of the flying banana or get knocked off. Give the Necklace of Endurance to the Awakened One and he will teach you the path of a Druid.

To become a Sage, you must be at least Level 120.
Head back to Waken Village and speak with the Awakened One. Agree to wanting to be a Sage and he will tell you to speak with another monk in the forest.

Speak to this monk and agree to train. He will send you to a (quite flat) hidden map. There will be a statue in the middle of map and your job is to guard it until the timer reaches zero. If it breaks, you will be kicked from the map. After a few seconds, animals will appear and they will attempt to damage the statue. There will be nerfed:

Crows|Plain flying monster
Boars|Only physical attacks affects it
Foxes|Only magical attacks affects it
Neckis|Only poison attacks affects it
Fierries|Immune to physical/magical/poison attacks. These flying buggers slowly lose HP from being exposed to the sun.
Bears|Only physical attacks affects it, however, it's WDEF is very very high.

If you successfully defend the statue for the given time limit, you will be kicked from the map and a chat will occur where you will receive a Necklace of Faith. Give this to the Awakened One and you will learn all there is to learn about being a Sage.


To become a Tainted Monk, you must be at least Level 30.
Head back to Waken Village and speak with the chained Tainted Monk. He will require you to obtain some animal pieces from the surrounding area. Collect them all and bring it to him. He will then imprint you with a spell and tell you to go deep in the forest and search for the Warped One. Speaking to the Warped One will allow you to become a Tainted Monk.

To become a Fiend, you must be at least Level 70.
Head back to the Warped One and speak to him. Agree to wanting to be taught darker arts. He will send you to a big hidden map high on top of the trees. There will be a timer and you will be kicked when the timer reaches zero. Your job is to get rid of all the birds, including their eggs and nests. There will be nerfed:

Crows|Plain flying monster
Birds|Plain flying monster
Eggs|NPC-type object. Crows love to peck at these things.
Nests|You can "whack" it to destroy it after the Eggs are gone.

If you manage to complete the job in time, he will mold you to a Fiend.

To become a Warped Sage, you must be at least Level 120.
Head back to the Warped One and speak to him. He will tell you how you have gotten much stronger and so forth. In the end of the conversation, he will request for you to obtain meat from a King Boar as well as his skull. A portal that was locked will be enter-able somewhere in the forest.

Entering the portal will send you to a big map where you will be near a mountain. You must make your way up this mountain by using High Jump. There will be obstacles just like in any JPQ to hinder your progress. At the top of the mountain will have a clearing where hundreds of boars dwell, including the King Boar. Even though the King Boar is vicously strong, he avoids coming into contact with humans by smelling them from afar. Each boar you slay will have a chance of dropping boar skin, gather 100 of them and the King Boar will have a hard time to detect your scent. (Thus, appearing)

If you manage to bring King Boar Meat and King Boar Skull back to the Warped One, he will laugh and call you a twisted man/woman. You will then be taught the secrets of a Warped Sage.

Huh. I read all of it and have a few problems.

1) too much magic/summoning rock skills. It's annoying to have so many skills that require such things. And they aren't used in the second job either. The description says they're used for high level skills, namely third job skills. I can't think of any 2nd/4th job skills that currently use them. And Inner Demon is highly griefable. If a Warped Sage used it, all a bishop would have to do is heal and that's 6 summoning rocks wasted.

2)No mastery in the second job. In pretty much every skill build for every class, mastery is one of the first things to put points into because it increases the overall damage so much. I wouldn't want to play a class that can do 1000 damage one hit and 100 the next.

3) it's too different from other classes in many aspects. Mostly the advancements. There's two instructors, and instead of using skills gained to defeat monsters, a lot of these are jump quests. You never even have to go to El Nath or Leafre.

Besides that, good job. I liked the skill icons.

Tbh, I had already thought about this class before hearing about Pirates. It wasn't as thorough as it is now though.

Mastery needs to be in the second job. If you have to wait until 70 just to start getting stabler damage, it's not worth it, especially with large single hits and not low multiple hits. If you have a damage range of 60-600, you could do anywhere from 180 to 1800 damage with elbow strike. Stability is just too valuable to put off until the third job.

I'm not saying that difference is a good thing, but this is too much. The pirate class is different, like having two bosses for the 3rd job fight instead of one and summons, but this is just completely out there. It would feel more like the cygnus than a new class.

Well, by lore I mean a set of assumptions i made due to the item descriptions and only third job skills needing them. But I think it fits pretty well. As for still needing the rocks, I dunno. Maybe since you learned this skills already, it's too hard to learn them again without using them? :f3:

And I think that using the magic/summoning rocks would work out better if you made them a new use item similar to arrows, in that after you use them they're gone and don't recharge. You could make them semi-rare and kind of expensive, but if this class became popular and you used magic/summoning rocks they would go up in price from whatever they are now to at least double, which would suck for archers and sins.

And I think mastery is that important. Maybe you should try getting a character to 70 without mastery and see if it's as difficult as I think it is.

And I would enjoy this play stle too, but not as a 6th class. If it was another subclass like the Cygnus, I would love it :f2:
